Fall is one of the busiest wedding seasons in Utah. The weather cools off, the leaves turn, and venues book up months in advance. If you’re planning a fall wedding, here’s what I’d put at the top of the list.
Why Fall Is Utah’s Busiest Wedding Season
Cooler temperatures and the mountain scenery make fall an easy sell for an outdoor or semi-outdoor wedding. That popularity means the vendors couples want most, photographers, caterers, photo booths, tend to get booked out faster than in other seasons.
A Bonfire and S’mores Bar
Fall evenings in Utah get cold fast once the sun goes down. A bonfire with a s’mores bar turns that into part of the night instead of something to work around. It also gives guests a low-key spot to gather once the dancing slows down.
A Live Artist or Caricaturist
A live artist gives guests something to watch and gives you a keepsake from the day that isn’t a photo. It’s a nice complement to a photo booth rather than a replacement for one, since the two offer different kinds of takeaways.
A Vintage Camper Photo Booth
My photo booth is set up inside a restored 1968 camper trailer, so it already has some seasonal character built in. It works well paired with a bonfire setup or tucked near the reception entrance, and guests walk away with a printed photo strip.
When to Book
I usually recommend locking in vendors two to three months before a fall wedding date, earlier if you have a specific weekend in mind, since fall dates go fast. If you’re planning on a shorter timeline, reach out anyway. I’ll do what I can to work with your date.
I cover weddings across Salt Lake, Davis, and Utah County. Email hello@photocamper.com or fill out our form to check availability for your date.
