Are you opening a new brick-and-mortar business and prepping for a grand opening?

The grand opening is important because it introduces your community to your store and helps create a first impression that leaves them wanting to come back.

These days, a lot of people are into online shopping, so adding a little bit of extra fun to your grand opening can help increase your attendance.

Check out some of my best tips for making a grand opening more successful (and memorable) below.

Prep ahead of time:

Unfortunately, you can’t just schedule your grand opening and hope people will show up. Or, you can, but it’s not going to be very successful. You’ll need to plan and advertise it in advance.

Consider these ideas:

• Determine your budget and prioritize supplies

• Spread the word: Create fliers to hang in your community if you’re able to, post about your event on social media, and talk to your local community.

• Determine the goal of your grand opening (number of email sign-ups, price in sales, number of attendees, or sales, etc.

Choose a theme for your audience:

This can be as broad or detailed as you choose. Make sure the themes and ideas fit your audience.

• If your customers will be parents and families, make sure it’s family-friendly (think bounce-houses, face-painting, and games).

• If your consumers are women in their 20’s-40’s, tailor the event to them (light snacks and beverages, special discounts, product reveals, etc.)

• Ideal customer base: a man in his 40’s and up? Focus on snacks, drinks, and highlighting your product or services with promotions, and let them test it out.

You get the idea.

Embrace hands-on activities:

Hands-on activities make your event more engaging and memorable. This idea can be tied in with your theme or business, too. Some ideas include:

• Making a craft

• Cupcake-decorating

• Drink tasting

• A Photo Booth (we happen to know a really unique Photo Camper that comes to you.)

Something to remember you by:

We’ve seen firsthand the way a photo strip can drive fun, engagement, and memory-making. If you want to make your grand opening really stand out, consider booking Photo Camper.

• Set up, take down, and monitoring during the event – all taken care of by us

• Encourage your attendees to get silly with props and poses

• Guests receive a photo strip to take home as a party favor

The one thing you won’t regret for your event…booking Photo Camper.
