A wedding isn’t really one day. It’s a whole season of celebrations that lead up to it, and I get to be part of more of them than people expect.
The Engagement Party
This one usually happens first, and it tends to be smaller and more relaxed than anything else on the calendar. Guests have time to actually stop and talk to each other, which makes it a good fit for a photo booth. People aren’t rushing between a ceremony and a reception timeline, so they linger.
The Bridal Shower
Bridal showers are where a theme really gets to shine, and I’ve set up for a lot of them. A lemon and blue color scheme, an Italian-inspired “That’s Amore” theme with citrus and florals, a garden party look, whatever direction the host picks, a photo booth tends to fit right in without needing much extra styling. It becomes a favor guests actually take home instead of a party favor that ends up in a junk drawer.
The Bachelorette
Bachelorette weekends and dinners are a different energy entirely, and a photo booth works well here too, especially for a group that wants a keepsake from the night without everyone crowding around one phone for a group photo.
The Rehearsal Dinner
Rehearsal dinners are smaller and more intimate, usually just the wedding party and close family. It’s a nice spot for a photo booth because the group is small enough that almost everyone ends up using it at least once.
The Wedding Reception
This is the one most people picture when they think photo booth, and it still works the way you’d expect. It gives guests something to do while you’re pulled away for photos with your new spouse, and it gives you a stack of printed photos afterward that capture people you might not have gotten a picture with otherwise.
Why a Photo Booth Works at Every One
The common thread across all of these is that a photo booth gives people a reason to slow down for a minute. Whether it’s twenty people at an engagement party or two hundred at a reception, that’s true either way.
