If you’re like us and always looking for fun things to do with your family in the winter, here are some ideas for you!
- Go snowshoeing! A relatively easy and inexpensive activity to get out in the snow with your family.
Here’s a trail idea for you:
Wheeler Creek to Art Nord | Ogden Canyon
Distance: 3.5 miles round-trip
Difficulty: Easy
This quick trail makes for a pleasant jaunt that begins next to an enchanting half-frozen stream and ends with southern views of the steep mountains near Snowbasin Ski Resort.
- Check out some hot springs. If you feel the pull to be outside but also want to relax, this is the perfect option. We have two favorites that are about an hour’s drive from Salt Lake City: Crystal Hot Springs is a commercialized option, and Saratoga Hot Springs is a natural option. Saratoga Hot Springs is accessible from a park with a short 10-minute walk!
- If you want to escape the snow, do a library crawl! As an adult, it’s fun to cozy up with a book in a new setting, and it’s a great activity if you have kids, too! Look up some local libraries with children’s nooks or reading times and plan out a few days of library visits.
No matter where you live, what are your plans this winter?? Let us know!
